"Eyes on Appalachia" Public Art  Series

SPECIAL EVENT:  November 22, 2008 beginning at 6pm
Swain County Center for the Arts, Bryson City, NC

ExhibitFree Admission—On November 22, 2008 at 6pm, at the Swain County Center for the Arts,  Catch the Spirit of Appalachia will present “The Cockman Family, an evening of mountain music and ole time gospel entertainment.” This performance will warm your heart and celebrate family. The Cockman Family represents a family of musical roots passing it on to their children.Well known throughout the South, their heart felt music will lift you up and keep you there.

An art exhibit spotlighting our mounatin roots will fill the gallery of the Center for the Arts. Doreyl Ammons Cain will unveil a large mural 8 feet by 8 feet which celebrates our heritage. Doreyl's students of pastel art will display their art with scenes taken directly from the natural environment of this area, and for holiday giving, the sale of art, books, cards, & photography will be available also in the lobby. Refreshments will be presented & hosted by CSA. The program is sponsored by the Board of Directors for Catch the Spirit of Appalachia.
